danbee ko

accompanist

Born and raised in Seoul, South Korea, Danbee
Ko began her study of piano at the age of six and moved to Canada with her family at the age of thirteen. In 2014, she graduated with a Bachelor of Music in Piano Performance and her passion for musical collaboration led her to pursue a master’s degree at the University of Western Ontario.


Throughout her tenure at UWO, Danbee graduated with distinction and received first place in Maritsa Brooke’s Concerto Award, performing under the baton of Shalom Bard. After completing her master’s degree, Danbee accepted the position of Staff Accompanist in the Fountain School of Performing Arts at Dalhousie University and relocated to Halifax in September 2016. Since her move, she has been
an active member of the music scene and is thrilled to be making more music with many fabulous musicians in the upcoming events.
