Alan says, “I have been singing since before I can clearly remember in kitchen parties at home. My father, an old time fiddler, told me that I had an excellent sense of time. I studied  violin with Pat Wyman and Fran Dearin from county schools music program in Sambro, so I’m a fiddler too. I discovered choral music in grade 10 with Alex Tilley at J.L. Ilsley High. I scored 100% in music that first term and sang my tenor heart out even while delivering papers.  I still remember learning “Against the Wind” on my 12 string. When Pam Gilbert asked me to sing with the Plain Clothes choir in Chezzetcook at Christ Church I was transported back to the old days. She suggested that I join Musical Friends on the shore and it is there where I met our own Lynn and Gina running the choir. My daughter was so proud of me at Terry and Joe’s audition in Jan 2006 when I began singing with Nova Voce

Tim joined Nova Voce in 2009 and throughly enjoys the experience as it allows his heart to soar.  He has been singing since he was very young.  He first heard men’s choral music as a teenager when his dad was part of the Men’s Choir in Lockeport under the direction of NV’s former conductor Terry Hurrell.  As an adult he continues to enjoy singing, both with Nova Voce and in occasional musical theatre performances such as Gilbert and Sullivan.
