On behalf of the Board of Directors and all of the Nova Voce family, it is my pleasure to welcome you to our 2015 – 2016 season.

We concluded our 2014-2015 season with our second international concert tour, under the direction of Associate Bryan Crocker. The ten day excursion included stops in Richmond, Norfolk, Petersburg, Wake Forest, Washington and Philadelphia. We were welcomed with enthusiastic audiences and experienced the finest of Southern hospitality. The audience response at the end of each concert was, “When are you coming back?” On behalf of the tour group, I would like to thank our concert manager, Gina Sanford, for her many hours of preparation to make this trip possible.

I would like to thank our Artistic Director Bill Perrot, Associate Bryan Crocker and Accompanist Lynn Pelton for their leadership during the 2014 – 2015 season.
We begin our 12th season on August 26 by joining The Grenville Choir from Bath, England at St Patrick’s Church. We continue our tradition of joint concerts on November 8th as part of the Canta Mara weekend with Charles Bruffy and with our annual Christmas Concert with the Halifax Boys Honour Choir on December 4th. Our regular concert series includes performances in Antigonish, Halifax, Lunenburg, Mahone Bay and Springhill.

Each year brings changes to the organization. I am pleased to announce the promotion of Bryan Crocker to the position of Artistic Director. Congratulations Bryan; we look forward to the new year under your leadership. New music includes new arrangements by Scott MacMillan and Jeff Ens that were written especially for Nova Voce.

The issue of homelessness is still the focus of our charitable endeavours. In addition to our support of Pheonix Youth Choir and other local initiatives, our focus was broadened last year by several churches on our US tour who used our concerts as a fund raiser for their own homeless outreach. Again this year we provided a $1000 scholarship to an outstanding male voice student. Congratulations to our scholarship winner, Patrick Simms.

Finally, thank you to you our audiences for your support.

Enjoy the concert!
